In Mexico, approximately 7 out of 10 adults have overweight. Of which 42.6% are men over 20 years and 35.5% are women over 20 years.

DMC mission is to prevent and improve people with overweight and diabetes lives. Specializing in providing a unique service that involves a complete diagnosis and treatment in different areas such as Psychology, Nutrition, Chiropody & Physiotherapy, Odontology, Ophthalmology, Cardiology, and Endocrinology.

The project arises of the need to develop a medical center where people have every specialized doctor in one place to have a proper and overall medical treatment. DMC Juriquilla is the first medical center of many that they want to build in Mexico. It is located on the first floor of Centro capital, one of the newest buildings in the city. 

 

The materials selection had to create an identity for the next future medical clinics, they had to dialogue with the vision of the brand, to be resistant, easy to clean, and pleasing to the eye. The use of natural light and indirect light throughout the space was a very important point to consider in the design.

 

 The main challenges of the project were the budget and fitting all the client’s needs into the space, especially all the additional new required spaces after the design was finished and was in the process of being built. We utilized the space to the maximum to incorporate all of these new spaces. The other challenge was that there was a very short timeline for the project to be designed and built.

The design and permits were developed in 2 months and the construction and decoration took 4 months. Responsibilities: Involved alongside the main architect in conducting meetings with the client and stakeholders.

 

Responsible for the design, the production of technical drawings, renders FF&E selection, and purchase. Preparing presentations and contract packages. Performing construction administration duties such as site supervision and support to ensure the project is completed to a satisfactory standard.
